What is an Escape Room?

Real-life room escape games are a type of physical adventure game in which you are "locked" in a room with your friends, family or work mates. Using your sense of adventure, imagination, puzzle solving skills, powers of observation, teamwork and your sense of fun. Solve a series of stimulating, challenging and fun puzzles, solve the mystery and Escape the room within the time limit.

Are we really locked in?

No, you can exit at any time

Is it dangerous?

Props may contain wording such as "high voltage", "hazardous", "danger", "beware", etc, but everything is harmless and in keeping with the story/theme of the room

What is the recommended age for the game?

Anyone can participate, but if you are under 16 you must be accompanied by an adult in the room. We can provide a facilitator for $60.00 per room. For bookings with children under 10 years old, please contact us on bookings@escapexperience.com.au or call on (03) 9912 8162.

How big should my team be?

A minimum of 2 people is required, however, keep in mind that the more minds you have, the better chance you have of escaping and the more fun you will have. See the maximum number for each of our rooms on the bookings page.

What if we get stuck on a puzzle?

A team member will be monitoring your progress on a webcam (not recorded), ready to help when needed.

How early should we show up for our booking?

We recommend you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your group's start time. If you are late for your start time you will be missing out on game time. Please note that there are no refunds for cancellations due to lateness.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes of course we welcome anyone, however we cannot guarantee you will have a spot without a booking. Customers are advised to book their experience at least 2-3 weeks in advance in order to guarantee a spot.

Can I bring extra people on the day?

Yes of course, subject to the maximum number of people permitted for each room. You can pay prior to starting.

Is it possible to cancel or reschedule the booking?

Yes, you can reschedule a reservation up to 48 hours prior to your time slot. Email bookings@escapexperience.com.au or call (03) 9912 8162. Note, there will be no refund for cancellations. If you need to reschedule within 48 hours of your booking, please note there will be a re-booking fee.

Do we need to bring our confirmation email?

Yes, and please bring your ID with you so that we can confirm your booking.

What forms of payments are accepted?

For online booking, we accept payments through PayPal or credit card. For walk-in customers, we accept cash and eftpos payments.

Can I take photos or video in the room?

No cameras, mobile phones or any other electronic devices are permitted in the rooms. There will be photo opportunities after you escape.

It's my birthday. Do I play for free?

Definitely! Guests are able to play for free on their birthday- just let us know at the time of your booking, you play for free, minimum booking with 4 additional paying guests. Please bring your ID with you on the day.

Do you sell Gift Vouchers?

escapeXperience Gift Vouchers are available online or at the premises in Oakleigh

Do you do Corporate Functions or Private Events?

Yes we do! We have a great facility which can accommodate larger groups. Contact our bookings department at bookings@escapexperience.com.au or call Mark on (03) 9912 8162. We can host your corporate function, party or social gathering. Catering packages are available.
